Mobility, Parking, and Traffic Issues

  • Telecommuting - directed staff to evaluate ways to encourage ongoing telecommuting and reduced auto traffic as businesses in the City reopen after the pandemic.
  • Neighborhood Traffic Calming Measures  - directing staff to amend the City's procedure for approving traffic calming measures to eliminate the current petition process and replace it with a new community engagement strategy. 
  • Evaluation Of Traffic Signal Synchronization - directing staff to evaluate the effectiveness of traffic signal synchronization and return to City Council with the results. 
  • Bike Lane Status Report And Expansion - directing staff to prepare a status update on current bike lanes in West Hollywood and an evaluation of potential bike lane expansion.
  • Phasing Out WeHo Pedals Bike Share Program: directed staff to begin the process of ending the existing WeHo Pedals bike share program, and to research less expensive and better suited alternatives and associated infrastructure. 
  • Innovative Parking Meter Programs: Directing staff to investigate innovative parking meter programs and evaluate options to reduce the impacts of increased parking meter rates on residents and visitors.
  • Off-street Parking: item to help put our off-street parking resources to their best and highest use.
  • Parking Credits Program Expansion: item to expand the Parking Credits program to Center City and to study ways to best manage the success of the program as an economic development tool.
  • Parking Signage: item to make parking signage easier to read and see so it isn’t so difficult to know whether or not you can park in commercial districts.
  • Residential Parking Requirements: Item to update our parking requirements for new residential developments so it isn’t just based on the number of rooms.
  • Traffic Signal Synchronization: item to study traffic signal synchronization technologies in coordination with the completion of crosswalk improvements along Santa Monica Boulevard.
  • Parking on Grades: directed staff to amend requirements regarding parking on grades.
